Our Story

Fernwood Montessori School traces its roots back to 1981 and has been since its inception a haven where children are nurtured intellectually, socially, physically, and emotionally.  The heartbeat of our educational philosophy lies in the Montessori materials, fostering a hands-on approach to learning that transcends traditional boundaries. Our curriculum, spanning language, math, geography, and science, provides a robust foundation for lifelong academic success.

Fernwood became part of the Metro Montessori family in 2017 and our commitment to meeting the diverse needs of all children remains unwavering. Today, our community consists of around 75 children aged 2 through 12. As we continue to build our community, we eagerly look forward to welcoming you personally to Fernwood, where education is not just a destination—it's a lifelong adventure.
